pvl Law 2: We Reap The Same In Kind As We Have Sown
[ Galatians 6:7-8 ; Genesis 1:11-13 ]
A Message by Rev. Dr. Vincent Leoh on 8 & 9 March 2003
YOU GET WHAT YOU PLANT!
I. THE PRINCIPLE OF NATURAL REPRODUCTION
“And God said, Let the earth bring forth vegetation, plants yielding seed, and fruit trees bearing fruit in which is their seed, each according to its kind, upon the earth.” (Genesis 1:11 RSV)
Two key words in Gen. 1:11
1. “SEED”
- the ability to reproduce a form of life in its own likeness; programmed to enable the continuing replication of that same organism

pvl Law 1: We Reap What We Sow
[ Galations 6:7-8 ]
A Message by Rev. Dr. Vincent Leoh on 8 & 9 February 2003
I. THE LAW EXAMINED: WHOSE LAW IS IT ANYWAY?
“Do not be deceived: GOD cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows.” (Gal. 6:7)
“God cannot be mocked.” “Mock” means “to turn up the nose or sneer at.”
“Be not deceived.” “Deceived” literally means “to be led astray” – either by yourself or by someone else.
“Destruction” is better translated “ruin” or “corruption.” It was used of the decay of dead bodies in New Testament times. It describes not a violent destruction but a kind of corrupting ruin that takes place over time.

pvl [ Matthew 27:62 - 28:15 ]
An Easter Message by Rev. Dr. Vincent Leoh on 15 April 2001
Wouldn’t it have been marvelous to participate in that first Easter Sunrise service? Scripture records there were few in attendance that morning. Matthew 28:1-6 lists three – Mary Magdalene, out of whom Christ had cast 7 evil spirits; “the other Mary”, identified by Luke as the mother of James; and then there was the angel of the Lord. When all the evidence is in we’re convinced that Jesus is alive. He is risen from the dead. That’s what made that first Easter morning so glorious. But not everybody felt that way…
I. THE PHARISEES AND CHIEF PRIESTS
Voice of prohibition – Jesus must not rise! [Matt.27:62-66]
The Pharisees affirmed the resurrection of the dead. “The chief priests and Pharisees came together to Pilate” [Matt.27:62]. Why? To prevent the resurrection of Jesus. For it was this very sign of His resurrection on the third day that Jesus had given when they demanded a sign of His deity. [Matt.12:23,40]. They must prove that Jesus is not the Son of God.

pvl [Stirring of the Spirit]
[ Haggai 1:12-15; 2:6,7 ]
A Message by Rev. Dr. Vincent Leoh on 17 & 18 February 2001
How does God communicate with His people so that they will do His work? What does it take to motivate and mobilize a people? It takes God speaking, stirring, and shaking His people!
I. GOD SPOKE … THE PEOPLE BELIEVED AND OBEYED [1:12,13]
How had the voice of the Lord come to the people? “And the message of the prophet Haggai, because their God had sent him.” “And” here, might well be rendered “that is.” It does not add another source of information but clarifies how the Lord’s voice had come to the people. They recognized that it was indeed the Lord who had commissioned Haggai.

pvl ( Luke 17:7-10 )
A Message by Rev. Dr. Vincent Leoh on 2 & 3 December 2000
PARABLE OF THE UNWORTHY SERVANTS
The parable was designed to guard against the subtle peril of satisfaction in service, and the expectation that service shall be recognized with reward. In the four verses forming the parable Jesus impressed upon His own the arduous and unceasing nature of the service required of them, and the spirit in which such service should be rendered.
I. GIVE YOUR REASONABLE SERVICE (cf. Romans 12:1)
1. God Owns Everything
We are His by right of Creation, by Redemption and by the Surrender of our lives to Him. We belong to Him He demands our all and at all times, in all matters.
2. God Owes Nothing
The servant is always a debtor of service; the master is never a debtor of reward. Do your duty, and when you have done it, however laborious and painful it may be, remember that you have only done your duty.
