Title: Making And Keeping Vows (Psalm 116:1-19)
Date: 30 December 2007

MESSAGE

“I will pay my vows unto the LORD now in the presence of all his people” (:14, 18).

The making of vows, the stern declaration that things will be different this time, speaking in ringing terms that call for changes to be effected in the future is a familiar experience. But we can’t change the weaknesses in us that we so much want to change when we speak of our intention to do what God wants us to do.

So it might occur to us to ask, Are vows of any use? Do the gathering together of our best hopes, stating firmness of purpose, setting ourselves in a certain direction, and calling on others to witness it play any positive role at all?
I think the answer is yes.

We can infer something of the greatness of the creator in the wonders of the creation.

Title: The Kingdom ( Luke 10:1-22)
Date: 2 December 2007

MESSAGE

3 Characteristics of the KINGDOM: PEACE / POWER / JOY

We see the 3-fold duty – mission – responsibility of the Christian. Jesus told his followers that they were to bring peace to the households, cast out demons and heal the sick, and proclaim that the kingdom of God had come near. The message itself was simple, twice (: 9, 11); the disciples are instructed to convey the message that “the kingdom of God has come near to you. God’s kingdom is “His right to rule our lives.” Those who accept Christ not only be come a part of the kingdom of God but the kingdom of God becomes part of them. They not only enter the Kingdom of God but the Kingdom of God enters them.

Title: Dealing With Ruthless People (2 Kings 11:1-21; Romans 12:18)
Date: 14 October 2007

MESSAGE

Our text gives us a brief story of a ruthless person. Her name was Athaliah (meaning God is my affliction). She was a woman who gave ruthlessness a new meaning. No character in history would ever match her viciousness.
Athaliah was much like us “ shrewd, cunning, ambitious, and ruthless. Ruthless people, we all know some. We all know somebody that would go to any end to get what they want. We all know someone, who wouldn’t hesitate to lie, cheats, steal, and/or kill just to please their selfish desires. We all know some ruthless people. How do we deal with them?

I. GOD WILL JUDGE THE WORLD
In this life or in the next, God will execute vengeance upon evildoers.
