(Eph. 5:22-28; Col. 3:18-19; 1 Pet. 3:1-7; 1 Cor. 11:3)
A Message By Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 15 February 2009

Re-establishing God’s Order for the Family & Marriage:

I. MEN / HUSBANDS : TO LOVE AND LEAD
The Man Has Two Major Responsibilities! Lover and Leade

1. LEADING : GOD’S DIVINE ORDER FOR THE MEN
The Order of Male Headship (1 Cor. 11:3; Eph. 5:23). Headship is not domination. This is what headship is. It is the bestowing of love, respect, honour, protection, caring and every other good and virtuous thing. This is how Christ relates to the church in his role as head of the church. Year of Positioning – ‘THE BODY’

Posted by admin 07-Jan-2009

2009
YEAR OF POSITIONING
THE BODY
(Eph 4:16; 1 Cor 12:12-27)
A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 3 & 4 January 2009

The Bible refers to the church as the “Body of Christ”, and Eph 4:16 speaks in “body” language. In Romans, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians and Colossians Paul makes over 30 references to the body of Christ. This is especially designed to help us understand how the church is to function, for the whole body, plus the head, constitutes the Body of Christ.

I. A PLACE FOR EVERYONE

“… as each one does its part” (Eph. 4:16). “God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be” (1 Cor. 12:18). “To each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” (Eph. 4:7) Read Full Entry

He’ll give you Power” (John 1:12)

“He’ll give you Power”
(John 1:12)
A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 28 December 2008

2008 – Year of Empowerment

I. POWER TO HIS PEOPLE

RECOGNIZE YOUR POSITION IN CHRIST

What Do You Get When You Receive Christ? (John 1:12-13) “Yet to all who received him, to those who believed (trust in) in his name, he gave the right (and the power) to become (what they were not before) children of God.”
You Get A New Nature. When you receive Christ, you get a new nature Ezekiel 36:26. We can’t change our natures or give ourselves new hearts with new desires. Only God has that power. God not only forgives us, and forgets our sins but He also gives us a new nature. A nature that gives us the desire to serve and obey Him.

We are accepted by Him!
We become children of God!
We are “Born Again!” Read Full Entry

Following Jesus (6): “COMMAND” – Love One Another

Posted by admin 27-Nov-2008

Series: Following Jesus (6)

COMMAND
LOVE ONE ANOTHER
(John 13:34-35; 15:12-17)

A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 16 November 2008

“Love” is so overused that it is almost ambiguous. We apply “love’ to all kinds of circumstances or situations in life – whatever, whoever, whenever, wherever, and however we please. But the biblical command to love is different.

I. LOVE IS A DECISION!

1. It’s a Command! (John 15:12, 17)

2. It’s New! (John 15:12) Read Full Entry

Our Friend and Helper, the Holy Spirit

OUR FRIEND AND HELPER, THE HOLY SPIRIT
(John 16:5-15)
A Message by Rev Dr Stanley Lim on 19 October 2008

Introduction: The Lord Jesus had just delivered a discourse to his disciples preparing them to face with the respond that the world would give to them. He reminds them that they will be hated for what they do simply because they do not belong to the world. Because of the fact that they are following Jesus they will be treated negatively and will not be received with welcoming arms.

Jesus was able to reveal many things to the disciples of what is to take place because he was still physically present with them. But he reminded them that the time is coming that he will be returning to the One who has sent him to the world to fulfill the plan of God. But he comforted the disciples with the good news that even though he may be going away, they will not be left alone, helpless. Here, he introduces the person of the Holy Spirit by making reference to him as the Counselor. It was here that Jesus puts forth the work and ministry of the Holy Spirit in the world today. Following Jesus (4) ‘CHARACTER’ – To Be Like Jesus

Posted by admin 14-Oct-2008

CHARACTER: TO BE LIKE JESUS
(Mark 3:13-19)

A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 12 October 2008

Disciples are to be Fashioned BY Christ to BE LIKE Christ. “Follow Me and I will make you (become)…” (Mark 1:17). Following Christ means Change. Jesus taught character transformation. He taught His disciples what to be like, not what to do.

Character Defined – The moral constitution or pattern of behavior found in an individual. Character is who you are when no one is looking.

Next to knowing Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, nothing is more important than having a godly
Christ-like character. Read Full Entry
