Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.” – (Ephesians 1:3)

God the Father has blessed us “in the heavenly realms.” On a level other than the one we can see, at a supernatural level. He wants us to live according to that blessing. God wants you to live on another level. Read Full Entry

Sermon: Living Extraordinarily: Living in 4-Dimensional Blessings

LIVING EXTRAORDINARILY: LIVING IN 4-DIMENSIONAL BLESSINGS
(Acts 19:11; Eph. 4:14-21)
A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 03 August 2008

Extraordinary!

Acts 19:11-12 (NIV), “God did extraordinary miracles through Paul…” When Luke says that God did extraordinary miracles through Paul, they were extraordinary!

These verses give us an example of someone misunderstanding spiritual things.

1. Some say that the miracles in the Book of Acts are meant for the days of the apostles; days of beginning of the early Church, but they are not for today.

2. Some assumed that Paul was doing the miracles himself. Or they emphasized the perform doing the miracles rather than the source. They thought they could do anything Paul could do, and become famous also. The difference was, Paul was not doing it. See verse 11? “God worked…” Also, Paul was not seeking his own glory; he was seeking God’s glory. Paul was not doing his own will; he was doing God’s will.

Does God do miracles today? Does He still heal the sick through certain individuals as he did Paul?  The problem has never been with God!  He can do anything good. God is all-powerful! Read Full Entry

Sermon: Confronting The Powers

CONFRONTING THE POWERS
(Acts 15:36 – 18:22)

A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 6 July 2008

THIS COULD BE THE START OF SOMETHING BIG!
Acts 15:36: Some time later Paul said to Barnabas, “Let us go back and visit the brothers in all the towns where we preached the word of the Lord and see how they are doing.”

WHEN DIVISION BECOMES MULTIPLICATION (15:37-39)
Notice that the result of this separation was two missionary ventures, not just one. We realize that in the plan of God, two teams were supposed to leave Antioch. One accomplished the redemption of a man, the other the evangelization of a region. Read Full Entry

Sermon: The Changing Roles of Fathers

The Changing Roles of Fathers
“You, O LORD, are our Father; Our Redeemer from Everlasting is Your name.”
( Isaiah 63:16b )
A Message by Rev Dr Stanley Lim on 14 & 15 June 2008

Introduction: What type of father did you have? It’s a difficult question to answer. All fathers are different and we all recognize that. There is no single style of fathering that can be prescribed for everyone. In fact, there are as many different types of fathers as there are fathers. Each one inevitably brings his own unique set of gifts, qualities, strengths and weaknesses to the role. As we look out over the whole realm of what it means to be a father, certain patterns begin to emerge.

You have with you the Fathering Roles Inventory, a simple exercise to help clarify the roles of fathers. Not only will it help you learn what the roles are; it will also help you understand where your father was strong and where he was weak.

Different roles are typically more crucial at different stages of the child’s development. Ideally, every father should be able to play all four roles, and be able to emphasize the one that is most needed in the life of each individual child at that point. However, in reality, the challenges of parenting today distract us from our focus and many of us require gentle reminders in order to play our roles well. Let’s look now at the characteristics of each of the four roles. Read Full Entry

Sermon: HOW THE SPIRIT LEADS US

HOW THE SPIRIT LEADS US
(Acts 13:1 – 15:35)
A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 8 June 2008
—————————————————————–

Does God still lead people today by the leading of His Spirit?

Rom 8:14 as we are led by the Holy Spirit, we show ourselves to be the sons of God.
Ezekiel 36:27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
Galatians 5:25 If we are living now by the Holy Spirit, let us follow the Holy Spirit’s leading in every part of our lives.

“God speaks by the Holy Spirit through the Bible, prayer, circumstances, and the church to reveal Himself, His purposes, and His ways.” (Henry Blackaby, Experiencing God) Read Full Entry

ENCOURAGEMENT: The Key To The Well-Being Of The Church

Posted by admin 27-May-2008

A Message by Rev Dr Stanley Lim on 25 May 2008
———————————————–
Do you know what is the no. 1 reason why people resign from their jobs?

According to the U.S. Department of Labour report as published by the Gallup Press, it is when people do not feel appreciated. I am sure people resign for other reasons but many would agree that lack of appreciation is among the top reasons we get discouraged at work.

Tom Rath and Donald O. Clifton in their book, “How full is your bucket?” report a study they did with 10,000 business units and 30 industries and came to discover that individuals who receive regular recognition and praise had the following characteristics: Read Full Entry

Sermon: THE POWER OF CHANGE

Posted by admin 21-May-2008

(Acts 9:1 – 12:25)
A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 17 & 18 May 2008

The book of Acts is one continuous story of the CHANGE that is brought about by the work of God in people’s lives, as the unleashed Holy Spirit moves in the events and the hearts of people.

I.  THE CONVERSION OF PAUL (ONE-EIGHTY):
NOBODY IS UNREACHABLE! (Acts 9:1-31)

FROM SAUL TO PAUL

1. The “Before” (9:1-2)

2. The Transformation (:3-19)

3. The “After” (:20-22) – Changed!
    - A Marked Man (: 23-25)
    - An Accepted Man (: 26-27)
    - A Useful Man (: 28-31)

How impossible Paul’s conversion must have seemed! However, Christianity knows of no hopeless cases. The most hopeless case is not hopeless.

———————————————————————————————————————-

History of the Early Church - going, growing, and glowing - characterized by the phenomenal growth, marvelous miracles, pulsating power, unstoppable boldness. “Those that gladly believed… 3,000 were added” (2:41), Believers were “added daily” (2:47), “5,000 men” are added (4:4) “Multitudes of men and women” (5:14) “disciples are multiplied.” (6:1).
