SPIRIT, MOVE YOUR CHURCH
( Book of Ephesians )
A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 8 August 2010

The book of Ephesians is a book about, for and to the church – the Body of Christ;
it’s about how Jesus relates to His Body… “The Glorious Church.”

There is a progression of thought concerning the main references to the work and move of the Holy Spirit in Ephesians. There is one in each chapter.

I.   THE SPIRIT MOVING IN THE CHURCH (Eph. 1 – 3)

MOVE ONE:  THE SEAL OF THE SPIRIT (Eph.1:13, 14)
The Holy Spirit is the earnest of our inheritance, a guarantee on the contents;
everything is legally established. Our spirit is now safe by His work in us.

MOVE TWO: ACCESS BY THE SPIRIT (2:18)
We can now go into the presence of the Father – by the person and the power of the Holy Spirit.

MOVE THREE: REVELATION BY THE SPIRIT (3:5)
As a church we receive revelation in a number of ways: through the preaching and teaching; through the gifts of the Spirit; the worship, etc. The Spirit reveals Christ Jesus. There is a revelation of Gods will. There is a revelation of Gods Word

II.  THE SPIRIT MOVING THROUGH THE CHURCH (Eph. 4 – 6)

MOVE FOUR: UNITY OF THE SPIRIT (4:3)
Unity in the Bible is Unity in the Holy Spirit. This means all of us seeking His will and agreeing with what He wants.

MOVE FIVE: FILLING AND FULLNESS OF THE SPIRIT (:5:18-19)
The Spirit has been largely given to the Church. We are filled with the Spirit as individuals. However, we are also to be filled with the Spirit as churches.
-    It is the Spirit of Worship.
-    It is the corporate anointing.
-
MOVE SIX: PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT (6:18)
Prayer is Prompted and sustained by the Spirit. He gives power and grace to pray.
Spiritual warfare needs to be done by the church!
Only when we become worshippers can we truly become spiritual combatants.
