SHOWING FAVOR
(2 Samuel 9:1-13)
A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 18 April 2010

I.  SHOWING FAVOR: OUR RESPONSE TO GOD’S FAVOR

DAVID: A KING WHO SHOWED FAVOR

5He sent messengers to the men of Jabesh Gilead to say to them, “The LORD blesses you for showing this kindness to Saul your master by burying him. 6 May the LORD now show you kindness and faithfulness, and I too will show you the same favor because you have done this. 7 Now then, be strong and brave, for Saul your master is dead, and the house of Judah has anointed me king over them.” (2 Sam. 2:5-7)

“Now David said, is there still anyone who is left of the house of Saul, that I may show him kindness for Jonathan’s sake?”  (2 Sam. 9:1)   Read Full Entry

Sermon: Finding Favor

FINDING FAVOR
Gen. 6:5-14, 22
A message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 14 March 2010

Lessons from Noah’s Ark (Gen. 6)
1. Don’t miss the boat.
2. Remember that we are all in the same boat.
3. Plan ahead…it wasn’t raining when Noah built the ark.
4. Stay fit…when you’re really old, someone may ask you to do something really BIG.
5. Don’t listen to critics…just get on with the job that needs to be done.
6. Build your future on high ground.
7. For safety’s sake, always travel in pairs.
8. Speed isn’t always an advantage…the snails were on board with the cheetahs.
9. When you’re stressed, float awhile.
10. Remember…the ark was built by amateurs, the Titanic by professionals.
11. No matter the storm, when you are with God, there’s always a rainbow waiting. Read Full Entry

Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 4 April 2010

Text: John 20:1- ; 21:19-31; 1 Cor. 15:3-8

Easter was God … loving you!

The bodily Resurrection of Jesus Christ is a central pillar of the Christian faith. The fundamental question upon which Christianity ultimately rests is, “Did Jesus Christ actually, literally, and physically, rise from the dead?”Everything hangs on that question. There is a whole chorus of voices from the 1st century that say loudly and clearly, “Yes, He did rise from the dead. We saw Him; we talked with Him; we handled Him.” (1 Jn 1:1). Read Full Entry
