Vision Center – How it all Began

Yesterday we SOWED
Glad Tidings Assembly of God was started in 1963, at first in an office space and later the chapel of Bible College of Malaysia. The church building was put up in 1984 on BCM land at a cost of about two and a half million ringgit. From 2000 – 2003 we rented additional facilities at the former State cinema for our Youth and Chinese Church.

TODAY WE CELEBRATE!

PHASE ONE (2002 – 2006)
BUILDING GOD’S GREAT HOUSE

In 2002 the Church purchased its own 4.3-acre property at Section 13, Petaling Jaya, for sixteen million ringgit. Renovation was kept simple, basic and for short-term use; three million ringgit for structural works and two million ringgit for finishing and furnishings.

In our fortieth year, in August 2003 the Church moved into its new facilities. By October 2006, with the Jubilee declaration, we were completely debt-free.

From 2002 – 2006 the Building Fund collection amounted to RM13,168,929.00. This came solely from the faith pledge of God’s people. The Building Fund collection for 2007 and 2008 amounted to about three million ringgit.

The facilities under Phase One included Maranatha Auditorium, Parousia Hall, Zoe House, Kairos Hall, Office Block, Covered uncovered carparks, which had been fully used for the glory of God.

… it was worth the investment!

We stagnated for three years (2001-2003), with average attendance of about 2000 people. But since we moved into Section 13, we have been adding about 200 people per year every year from 2004-2008. Now we average 3,200 people…. … and moving on to 5,000!!

The Consolidation Phase
