I. IT’S MORE FUN AND FULFILLING TO BE A PLAYER THAN A SPECTATOR
The Potential to Make a Difference

THE GAME PEOPLE
The Casual Spectator
The Tailgater
The Commentator
The Cheerleader
The Coaches
The Players

What Would Jesus Say to Volunteers?

1. You’re not crazy!
“The Father who sees in secret will richly reward you” (Mat. 6:18)‏

2. What You Do Really Matters for all Eternity!
“… your work is not in vain” (1 Cor. 15:58)

Don’t head for the grandstands when you enter the kingdom of God. Head for the playing field. That’s where the excitement is. That’s where the action is!

“Put me in Coach, I’m ready to play today!” (1 Sam. 17:24-31)‏

II. PLAYING TOGETHER AS A TEAM IS GOD’S ORDER
The Power of the Church is the Power of Everybody! (Acts 6:1-7)

1. This is a Team Effort: We Play for Each Other

2. What Position Do You Play?
“Positional Confusion” happens everywhere, and it happens in the church.

FINDING YOUR POSITION
”You have the gifts and talents you were born with. The passions that inspire you. The blessings of education. The skills you have honed as you’ve worked at home or in the marketplace. The life experiences that have matured you. The pain that has deepened you. The need that grips your heart. The love of neighbor that spills from God’s heart into yours. He’ll make your heart beat fast about some area of ministry. These are powerful tools for good that God has lavished on all his children.”

DETERMINE YOUR SHAPE
Spiritual gifts
Heart
Abilities
Personality
Experience

YOU ARE GIFTED! A spiritual gift is given to each of us as a means of helping the entire church. Getting involved in your church by using your gifts will accelerate your spiritual growth immensely.

3. If you’re going to play together as a Team, you’ve got to care for one another

GET IN THE GAME! It is a transformational experience!
