Year of Positioning – ‘THE BODY’
2009
YEAR OF POSITIONING
THE BODY
(Eph 4:16; 1 Cor 12:12-27)
A Message by Rev Dr Vincent Leoh on 3 & 4 January 2009
The Bible refers to the church as the “Body of Christ”, and Eph 4:16 speaks in “body” language. In Romans, 1 Corinthians, Ephesians and Colossians Paul makes over 30 references to the body of Christ. This is especially designed to help us understand how the church is to function, for the whole body, plus the head, constitutes the Body of Christ.
I. A PLACE FOR EVERYONE
“… as each one does its part” (Eph. 4:16). “God has arranged the parts in the body, every one of them, just as he wanted them to be” (1 Cor. 12:18). “To each one of us grace has been given as Christ apportioned it.” (Eph. 4:7)
You have a Special Fit in the Body. There’s a Unique Place for You (vv. 14-20)
Nobody is a Nobody in the Body of Christ (1 Cor. 12:12-31).
We are Different and Essential.
Now consider for yourself: What part of the Body of Christ might you be?
II. EVERYONE IN THEIR PLACE
“every joint supplies..” (Eph. 4:16)
A Thriving Body Requires All Its Pieces in the Right Place.
No One Can Do Everything but Everyone Can Do Something.
Everybody is Important Because We Need Each Other.
Teamwork Makes the Dream Works.
III. FINDING YOUR PLACE / POSITION
Proverb 16:4 “The Lord has made everything for its purpose.”
We Are United With A Corporate Purpose.
We Are Individual Members; Each With A Special Purpose.
Giving God Your Very Best in 2009

This website needs to be updated. It’s the Year of Positioning already. A suggestion: perhaps the church bulletin can be uploaded here. I’d like to know what time is the missions convention this Friday (Jan 16).
